by the AGS Cemetery Committee, 1990 edition
The cemetery for the Village of Summerville, now part of Augusta, was established in 1824 to serve the "movers and shakers" of the area. This volume provides the tombstone inscriptions for about 1500 graves, and is the only such record since there is no burial list for the cemetery. Included are cemetery maps and photographs of the more interesting crypts and tombstones.  This book is available for use at the AGS Adamson library.   Call#  F292.R5A9 C3S8 A98.  This book was revised in 2012 (see above).  If you are interested in this 1990 edition, contact us.

Irish Nativities in the Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Georgia

Irish Nativities in Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, GA, by AGS Cemetery Committee, (1991).  These records were compiled at the request of Dr. Brian Trainor, then Director of the Public Record Office for Northern Ireland, after he was shown how many Irish immigrants had settled in the Augusta area. The tombstone inscriptions are keyed to maps of the cemetery. The Sextons' records reproduced in this book, which cover the period 1817 to 1900, are for those persons known to have been born in Ireland.  This book is available for use at the AGS Adamson library.   Call# F292.R5A9 C3M2 I6  This book is currently out of print, however it is available digitally.  Just email us for information.
