It’s no secret that the society has existed this long because of Carrie Adamson, our first President. Until 2006-2007, she invested herself 24 hours a day seven days a week to make the Society one of the best in Southeast. Thanks also belong to the long list of volunteers, membership, and community leaders who assisted her along the way. Today the Society maintains one of only a few independent Genealogical Libraries in the Southeast. The Society sponsors quarterly programs and two annual all-day seminars to provide knowledge to our members. The Society has published several books and continues to publish Southern Echoes, our quarterly newsletter. We continue to meet the mission of Augusta Genealogical Society based on the 1979 vision of our founders.
