We invite you to JOIN AGS!
To effectively use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and others, you need to know how to ask the right questions in the right way to get meaningful results. It all starts with a great prompt. In this session, you’ll learn what a prompt is and how to craft one. The session includes case study examples, practical tips, and plenty of encouragement!
Peggy Jude is a professional genealogist, speaker, and educator with a passion for helping others uncover their family stories. She has been conducting genealogical research since she was fifteen, beginning with interviews of older relatives and later expanding her research into libraries, microfilm collections, and NARA archives. Today, she combines her lifelong interest in family history with a love of technology through her genealogy business, where she teaches others how to use genetic genealogy and technology to discover more about their ancestors.
Peggy is based on the West Coast of Florida and spends summers in the Chicagoland area. Her own family roots are deep in the Midwest, with ancestors from Sweden, Scotland, and Ireland who settled in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa, with earlier connections to Newfoundland, Virginia, and Kentucky.
Peggy holds a B.S. in Zoology from Iowa State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. After a successful career as a global Human Resources executive for a Fortune 500 company, she opened her genealogy business focused on teaching and research. She has completed the ProGen program and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speakers Guild. She has attended advanced institutes at IGHR, SLIG, GRIP, and Gen-Fed, and served as co-course coordinator and instructor for the DNA Foundations course at IGHR from 2023 to 2025.
She currently serves as Vice President and Board Member of the Manatee Genealogical Society, where she leads both the DNA Special Interest Group and the Technology Special Interest Group, teaching monthly sessions for each group. Peggy has presented for genealogical societies and conferences across the United States and Canada, including the East Coast Genetic Genealogy Conference and the Newfoundland Rock Bound Roots Conference. Her courses are also available through Legacy Family Tree Webinars and Family Tree Magazine.
Peggy specializes in DNA and genetic genealogy, technology for genealogy, genealogical methodology, Swedish genealogy, and preserving family history and heirlooms.
