Q42. - BARRON. Seeking information on William Barron and family. William d. 1788, m. Prudy DAVIS who d. ca. 1815 in Warren Co., GA. His family came from Ireland in 1766 and lived in Warren County, GA. According to a book that I found on Warren County, he was a Captain in the Georgia Militia during the Revolution, was wounded in the Battle of Augusta and was killed fighting the Tories. According to the book, he was beheaded and later laid on Tory Grayson's piazza. I'm most interested in finding the children of his son, Samuel, m. Joannah BRASWELL in 1793. They moved to Jones County, GA in 1805 and Samuel died in 1826. According to the book Samuel had 8 sons. Living in Alaska makes it almost impossible to find information on Georgia. Q65 - BURCH. George Washington Duval, Jr. was living in Augusta, GA when he met his wife, Anna Teresa Burch Duval. He was b. in 1850, the son of George Washington Duval, Sr. and his wife, Rebecca Hack Duval. Rebecca had at least one sister, Mary Virginia Hack, b. abt. 1826. George Sr. had two more sons, Louis and Robert. Robert Was in the Civil War. Anna Burch had a brother or uncle named Alfred Burch, who was also a Civil War Veteran. The name Joseph Burch is in her family but I do not know where. Desire more information including location and perhaps a listing of names for the Burch Cemetary and the Duval Cemetary as well as any info on country of nativity. Q76 - BERRYHILL. Alexander Berryhill said he'd been living about 17 miles south of Augusta, GA after he moved to Franklin Co., TN in about 1811. He was born around 1760 and joined the Revolutionary War in Mecklenburg Co., NC. Possibly his father was also an Alexander Berryhill who sold property in Mecklenburg. Co, stating that he was a resident of GA. A grant was given a short time later to an Alexander Berryhill, with 7 kids, for land in St. Paul's Parish in McBean's Swamp. But I have no proof of the connection. I would appreciate any help from anyone familiar with this line. He was b. in 1850, the son of George Washington Duval, Sr. and his wife, Rebecca Hack Duval. Rebecca had at least one sister, Mary Virginia Hack, b. abt. 1826. George Sr. had two more sons, Louis and Robert. Robert Was in the Civil War. Anna Burch had a brother or uncle named Alfred Burch, who was also a Civil War Veteran. The name Joseph Burch is in her family but I do not know where. Persons of colour registered in the Clerk's Office, Interior Court, 2nd March, 1819; Georgis, Richmond County. William Kennedy age 11. This information was gathered in Augusta. The list of other family members include: Caesar Kennedy, age 43, occupation boating, and Hannah Kennedy, age 40, occupation sewing. The children are listed as: Maria, 21; John, 18; Matyann, 15; Wm, 11; Caesar Jr., 9; Rosella, 5; and Thos., 3. The age and name fit my William Kennedy who escaped to Canada in the late 1840s. Q33 - RAY. Seeking information on Hiram Ray. I have the complete genealogy for descendants of Hiram Ray from 1853 to the present. Prior to 1853, Hiram lived in Barnwell SC. He moved to Georgia because of the outcome of a fight with the town bully, a William FAIL. Hiram fought Fail to his death in the fall of 1846. He was arrested for murder; however, there is no court record of a trial. Hiram and his family left the state shortly thereafter. The family turned up next in Berrien County Georgia.
