FAMILY RESEARCH SEMINAR

Twice a year the Augusta Genealogical Society presents an all-day seminar on genealogical research, which is helpful to the beginning genealogist but inspires the seasoned researcher as well. The day's activities include a series of "mini-sessions", usually 12 or 13 of them. Some of the subjects covered are:

  • Organization of Records
  • Using Charts and Forms
  • Census
  • Soundex
  • Searching by Mail
  • AGS Library
  • Cemeteries
  • Computers and Genealogy
  • Books and Libraries
  • Hatched, Matched, and Dispatched
  • Courthouse Research
  • How I Started My Family Research
  • Enjoying Your Ancestors
  • How to Contact Relatives

The registration ($15.00 for members, and $20.00 for non-members) includes a box lunch and a syllabus. $5.00 of the registration fee is refunded to non-members who join AGS that day. The Seminar is being held at the AGS Adamson Library, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. For information on the Fall 2007 Following Footprints is Fun! seminar, click here.
