FAMILY RESEARCH SEMINAR

Twice a year the Augusta Genealogical Society presents an all-day seminar on genealogical research, which is helpful to the beginning genealogist but inspires the seasoned researcher as well. The day's activities include a series of "mini-sessions", usually 12 or 13 of them. Subjects being covered in 2013 are:

  • What is Genealogy?
  • Organization of Records
  • Genealogy Charts
  • Oral Interviews
  • Files, Home & Portable
  • Searching by Mail
  • Census Records
  • Soundex
  • Courthouse Research
  • Computers and the Internet
  • Adamson Library
  • Local Genealogical Resources
  • Using your Footprints Research Handbook
  • Enjoying Your Ancestors

The registration ($25.00 for members, and $30.00 for non-members) includes a box lunch and a syllabus. $5.00 of the registration fee is refunded to non-members who join AGS that day. The Seminar is being held at the Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 2, 2013 starting at 8:45 a.m. and ending at 3:15 p.m. For information and the mail-in registration form for the 2012 Following Footprints is Fun! seminar, click here.
